The following information includes my internship opportunities and my work experience. I have also presented achievements, work experience, blog posts, and a showcase of my photography.
IOWA MS. UNITED STATES AGRICULTURE
My name is Ashley Brincks and I am representing Iowa as Miss United States Agriculture. I am looking for sponsors to help me achieve my goal of empowering women in agriculture, educating our youth and promoting family farms through this title. I will be representing the great state of Iowa in Orlando, Florida on June 22, 2019 at the national pageant. I believe I am the perfect candidate to represent Iowa as Miss United States Agriculture because I take pride in my great state. My experience in the agriculture industry includes growing up on a generational family farm, working with local farmers to enhance their crop and livestock productions, and interning with local veterinary clinics. Not only have these experiences directly prepared me to represent Iowa as Miss United States Agriculture, but they have also taught me to be an active member of my community. I am currently pursing a degree in Animal Science and Agriculture Communication because I enjoy advocating for animal agriculture and educating individuals on the importance of local farming and small businesses, which are the backbone of the great state of Iowa.
EDUCATING FUTURE AGRICULTURISTS
I believe in the future of agriculture...
I was given the opportunity to visit several classes at local elementary schools and daycare's. The students enjoyed doing different activities such as creating paper plate cows and listening to books that I picked out specifically for these occasions.
ADVENTURING THROUGHÂ MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN
Where is one place to go for some awesome agriculture? How about Wisconsin! I was given the opportunity to visit La Crosse, Wisconsin to check out some of the various types of agriculture present in the state.
We stopped at The Crow, a local restaurant, for a bite to eat. Of Course we ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer.
It takes a lot of dairy. About 10 pounds of milk are required to produce 1 pound of curds.
National Day Calendar marks Oct. 15 as National Cheese Curd Day. The idea to give curds their own day was submitted by, you guessed it, Culver's back in 2015.
